Current Landscape of Genome-Wide Association Studies in Acute Myeloid Leukemia: A Review
نویسندگان
چکیده
Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a clonal hematopoietic disease that arises from chromosomal and genetic aberrations in precursor cells. AML one of the most common types acute adults; however, it relatively rare overall, comprising about 1% all cancers. In last decade or so, numerous genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have been conducted to screen between hundreds thousands millions variants across many human genomes discover polymorphisms associated with particular phenotype. oncology, GWAS has performed almost every commonly occurring cancer. Despite increasing number published regarding other malignancies, there paucity for AML. this review article, we will summarize current status

Genome Wide Association Studies, Next Generation Sequencing and Their Application in Animal Breeding and Genetics: A Review
Recently genetic studies have been revolutionized by next generation sequencing (NGS) technology, and it is expected that the use of this technology will largely eliminate defects in the methods of association studies. The NGS technology is becoming the premier tool in genetics. However, at the moment the use of this method is limited especially in the livestock due to high cost and computation...
متن کاملPrognostic Value of BAALC Expression in Pediatric Acute Myeloid Leukemia: A Systematic Review
Background: Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a malignant disorder involving blood cells, characterized by obstructed or distorted differentiation of hematopoietic stem cells. In cytogenetically normal AML (CN AML), molecular abnormalities in NPM, FLT3, CEBPA, and BAALC genes are observed. Initially, high BAALC (Brain and Acute Leukemia Cytoplasmic gene) expression was introduced in a study on AM...
متن کاملGenome wide molecular analysis of minimally differentiated acute myeloid leukemia.
BACKGROUND Minimally differentiated acute myeloid leukemia is heterogeneous in karyotype and is defined by immature morphological and molecular characteristics. This originally French-American-British classification is still used in the new World Health Organization classification when other criteria are not met. Apart from RUNX1 mutation, no characteristic molecular aberrations are recognized....
متن کاملReview Article The Epigenetic Landscape of Acute Myeloid Leukemia
Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a genetically heterogeneous disease. Certain cytogenetic and molecular genetic mutations are recognized to have an impact on prognosis, leading to their inclusion in some prognostic stratification systems. Recently, the advent of high-throughput whole genome or exome sequencing has led to the identification of several novel recurrent mutations in AML, a number of...
متن کاملClinical implications of genome-wide DNA methylation studies in acute myeloid leukemia
Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is the most common type of acute leukemia in adults. AML is a heterogeneous malignancy characterized by distinct genetic and epigenetic abnormalities. Recent genome-wide DNA methylation studies have highlighted an important role of dysregulated methylation signature in AML from biological and clinical standpoint. In this review, we will outline the recent advances i...
